Regarding the question in the description for this rose, "Identical to 'Botero'?", in my opinion it is clearly distinct. The Winschoten evolves to a rosette and the colour is a raspberry red. The Botero is described as having a strong damask scent but Winschoten is a strong sweet, fruity scent that reminds me of a Nahema.
It is a beautiful rose and I bought it completely on impulse when I saw it in my gardening supply store, shopping for regular supplies. It was a bit beaten-up and not well looked after but it was throwing out full buds and I knew it was a fighter. She hasn't disappointed.

The description says: "Occasional repeat later in the season", but it defenitely is repeating blooming (in flushes) throughout the season in the northern part of The Netherlands. It bloomed abundantly untill the first real night-frost. It also withstood our last (longlasting) winter very well, even though the wood couldn't ripen very well, because of the long lasting (relatively) high temperatures, before winter kicked in!

I'd agree, Winschoten seems to be quite vigorous and produce a stream of blooms.

To the HMF adm.
Could You please change at both nurseries in the Netherlands (Belle Epoque and Lottum) the name it's sold by "Winshoten" into "Winschoten". Because it's sold under that name! Winshoten is a typo!!!....And that doesn't give any results, when You use the search function at both nurseries!
Please also see my earlier comment about the name.

What a beautifull and strong, complex old rose fragrance! Has a long vase-life.
The flower can turn in sunlight from dark red into a blue-ish deep purple.
Height of the very healthy plant is up to 1.80 m. No Blackspot, no mildew!
