I have added more references.
Not much to be found on 'Delight' unfortunately.
In 'Hiawatha' there were various names of other lookalikes such as 'Solarium', 'Eisenach', Carmine Pillar' and 'Luciole' mentioned.
(I might research 'La Fiamma' at a later date in relationship to my foundling ?'Hiawatha' as it does seem to close up in some years,)
I only added references from the U.K. and American Annuals and didn't research any of the other books on my shelves.

Thanks, Patricia, I have Walsh's 'La Fiamma' and the flowers are quite different than 'Hiawatha'. 'La Fiamma' flowers are smaller and never seem to open flat; they stay cupped and are a different color; more pink. See my photos. http://www.helpmefind.com/rose/l.php?l=21.178083

Dan Russo says that the Elizabeth Park acquisition ledger shows entries for three 'Hiawatha' and one 'Delight'. He has a maroon colored single just like 'Hiawatha' that may be 'Delight'. The Netherlands rose may be 'Solarium'.

I have sent Bierkreek a Private Message on the possibility of 'Solarium'. (We need more references in that file.)
Do you have any hip photos of 'Hiawatha'? I am afraid I don't.

Patricia, I don't have any hip photos and I don't remember if 'Hiawatha' sets hips. I should know in about 6 weeks though.

A few varieties bloom quite freely in September by pruning. Cut back the shoots which have flowered in the early Summer to within two inches of the main shoot and shorten the long shoots a few inches. Hiawatha, Debuntante and Delight treated in this way will produce a nice lot of blooms.

what are the size of the flowers and how many petals on each flower?

The flowers are small for a Rambler and are a little over 1 inch in width. There are 5 carmine pink petals with a white center.

Flowers are 1-1.5", normally 5 petals with an occasional 1 or 2 extra.
