Bred by Reimer Kordes (1922-1997) (Germany, 1957).

Bloom:
Rose-pink.  Mild fragrance.  Large, full (26-40 petals), cupped, globular, old-fashioned bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Climbing.  

Height: 8' to 15' (245 to 455cm).  Width: 6' to 10' (185 to 305cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

Notes:
There's a photograph of Karlsruhe on page 70 of the June/July 1999 issue of Garden Design magazine, which has several articles/notes of interest to rose growers.
