‘Bantry Bay’’ = Grimpant… grandes fleurs doubles en coupe un peu lâche, d’un rose riche et chaud, irisé de rose doux, s’ouvrent pour révéler leurs étamines, exhalant un parfum léger… feuillage vert sombre et luxuriant. Vigoureux, bien ramifié, ce grimpant très sain se prête à tous les usages. En outre, il se rit de la pluie, et quoi d’étonnant de la part d’un rosier baptisé du nom d’une des plus jolies baies du comté de Cork, en Irlande? McGredy, UK, 1967. Many of us had tried to grow 'Bantry Bay' in California -- with mixed results. But we saw this magnificent rose everywhere [in New Zealand], spilling over barns, decorating entrance gates, covering pergolas. A heritage rose of the future!
