Does not drop off cleanly. My lack of magical deadheading capacity above my reach gives this rose a sad appearance.

From Sequoia breeding records, the code number of Strawberry Swirl was 57-75-9, with listed parents of Little Darling X unnamed seedling. The other seedlings introduced with code numbers from this cross were Crazy Quilt (57-75-19B) and Secret Recipe (57-75-26St), both of which were listed as being from the cross Little Darling X 33St. The code numbers mean the cross 57 from 1975, the last number being the order in which seedlings from this cross bloomed. The letter initials indicated traits of the flower or plant to be aware of as seedlings. So, all three of these roses would be sister seedlings from the same cross, Little Darling X 33 Stripe.

An interesting thing to note from these three roses is, though all were germinated and flowered in the same year (1975), Strawberry Swirl was introduced in 1978; Crazy Quilt in 1980 and Secret Recipe in 1994/95, some twenty years after first flowering. Mr. Moore often held seedlings for evaluation, and frequently for breeding use, sometimes for decades before deciding to release them into commerce.
