First bud on my cutting-grown plant of "David's Dilemma", a darker pink than many of the photos here. I'm impressed with the attractive pink-plum stems which contrast nicely with the bright green semi-glossy foliage. Sydney, 13/9/25. Provenance: Margaret Furness.

"David's Dilemma" - receptacles are cups of varying depth, most are slightly incurved at the top.
Proliferating centres are not uncommon,
The pedicels are notable for their length.
Pedicels generally look smooth to the eye but close examination can reveal a scattering of stalked glands on some.

"David's Dilemma" is well-armed. Most of the prickles are 'descending' but, as with most roses, there is some variation in the angle and the curve.

"David's Dilemma" bloom stems often have three bracts - either two single lobed bracts and a small leaf with three leaflets, or one single-lobed bract and two three-leaflet leaves.
Other variations are also seen - eg bracts with one or two formed leaflets as seen here in the lower example.
