Single Roses
These are Hybrid Tea Roses with single or almost single flowers, and require the same culture and care as the other Hybrid Teas. They are often called the "Irish Singles", although they are not all of Irish origin. The buds are especially fine, but the open flowers are rather perishable although they are very freely produced.

p188. 'Mrs. Oakley Fisher' (H.T.), B. R. Cant & Sons). A very large single flowering Rose, somewhat after the style of 'Irish Fireflame'. The blooms, which are truly single, and carried on dark red stems, are of good form, and not apt to crinkle with age, as so many of the singles do. The colour of the petals is a pale golden buff, with deeper coloured stamens. An attractive variety, and one that will be most useful for decorative purposes. In commerce.
