Book (1948) Page(s) 78. ….while the late Mr. E. Willis, of ‘Woodendean’, Greatford, was another keen rosarian and successful exhibitor. The late Mr. W. Weightman, of Awahuri, one of the best known rosarians and rose judges of the province, named an excellent rose ‘Mrs. E. Willis’ after that lady. This rose has now appeared in climbing form, and is a favourite. The Woodendean garden is now carried on by Mrs. T. R. Willis, who is probably the most enthusiastic rosarian in the district.

Book (1938) p31-1 Alister Clark. A Walk About Glenara. Fairlie Rede is a healthy, good rose that must make headway when known. Raised from ‘Mrs. E. Willis’, it is many times taller, and the flower is larger, more distinct and salmon fawn in the center; the plants go to six feet or more.

p128-4 Mrs. T. R. Willis of Greatford, New Zealand writes: Your reference to ‘Mrs. E. Willis’ (see 1936 [Australian] Rose Annual, page 79) is very pleasing, as the lady after whom it was named laid out the garden here. The rose grows beautifully in its own home, and gives lovely soft salmon flowers for nine months of the year.
Book (1937) Page(s) 202. Mr. A. R. Bird, New Zealand. 'Mrs. E. Willis' is a New Zealand-grown variety, raised from 'Mme. Segond Weber' and is very distinct. A shapely decorative, on a good plant, the color is a clear flesh-pink somewhat of the 'Mrs. Henry Morse' type.

p140-6 On page 79 appears a photo of ‘Mrs. E. Willis’, a rose which was raised in New Zealand, where it is very popular, although not very largely grown in Australia. The photo comes from Mrs. T. R. Willis, of Woodendean, Greatford, New Zealand, who says; “It does very well here, as it should, as this is the old home of Mrs. E. Willis, after whom it was named.
