'Edward Morren' rose Description

ARS: Medium red Hybrid Perpetual.Registration name: Edward Morren
 
Bloom: Deep pink to cherry-red.  Moderate fragrance.  Very large, full (26-40 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters, flat bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.   
Habit: Height: up to 39" (up to 100cm).
 
Growing: USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Can be trained as a climber.

Notes: J. Beaujean sent this old picture of the rose 'Edouard Morren' (from La Belgique Horticole, vol. XX, pages : 182-183. 1870. Liège.Dedicated to Charles Jacques Édouard Morren (December 2, 1833 Ghent - February 28, 1886 Liège), Belgian botanist ("É. Morren")
 Introduced as a repeating climber by George Paul and Son in 1879.
