This is one of my favorite reds. Although not as well scented as some others, it still has a nice pleasing spicy scent. It withstands Florida weather and soils and is fairly disease resistant. Flowers don't burn in the heat, but get darker. Lovely and one of the best fragrant reds on the market.

This rose regularly turns up in the springtime stacks of bodybag roses at the local stores. I bought one once and, to my surprise, it thrived in spite of its inauspicious beginnings. The next year I had the same experience and after a year off I bought a third one this way and it also prospers.
All of which leads me to say that while 90% of the roses sold in those awful little plastic bags full of wet bark don't do very well, this instead is one of the handful that is actually worth the gamble.

Apl 2011 ~ Red MasterPice is available at OSH stores in NorCAL for $6.00 in a pot. The last pot had 2 buds on it, despite not receiving any care! although reds are not my favorite (exception would be Altisissmo in Petaluma, at Cottage Garden Nursery) roses . . . I 'll give this 'master' a try !
