Many years have passed since I pointed out that Casoretti, the great rose - and not only - breeder of Desio, shoild not be confused with thre Ligurian peony breeder, Casoretto. But now, it seems, the latter is claimed to be the son of the former. In fact, they are not at all related.

How come 'Nora' isn't listed under roses bred by Casoretti?
By the way, the rose listed as 'Miss Kennedy' could just as well not be dedicated to Judith Kennedy as discussed elsewhere but to Nora Kennedy - both y.oung ladies (sisters or not) who were wards of Marquesse Townshend (alias Lord Compton alias Joseph Clare}

It is listed, but as 'Rosa Nora' as in most references. We will add 'Nora' as a synonym, as in Hardy's work.

Forgive me if I've made this point before, but I think it's unwise to refer to Giovanni Casoretti as a peony breeder. Of course, he did breed tree peonies....as well as roses, magnolias, pelargoniums, dahlias, camellias etc. The problem is that describing him the way you do helps confuse him with the Ligurian peony breeder (more correctly called Casoretto) of that name.

Sorry, my comment is unclear: certainly Giovanni Casoretti bred peonies. I was referring to the assertion that his son was a peony breeder.
