I have 50 roses and don't know why it took me so long to purchase this beauty. 1/3 of my plants are HTs, 1/3 are David Austins, and 1/3 are Kordes.

The temperatures around here are up to high 90s occasionally in summer and down to low 30s occasionally in the winter. But generally this is a more temperate climate than many places. I take care of my roses better than most people. They get the best organic fertilizers and arewell composted They are also planted in locations that make most roses happy and are well watered.

My HTs are all wonderful beauties ( e.g. Pristine, Brandy, Oregold, Olympiad). But they lose some lower foliage when they get older, and occasionally get BS and Rust. They are still wonderful.

My David Austins (now about 7 years old) generally have wispy canes and leaves. They also don't bloom as often as my other roses. English roses don't seem to like it around here.

My favorites are my Kordes. Some I have in huge pots and some in the ground. They bloom very well and have NEVER had any disease, The foliage is great and the canes are generally sturdy.

Crimson Bouquet is only 4 months old and is already behaving like my other Kordes. But what is amazing about this rose is that the blooms (which are the best true vibrant red) stay on the plant so long. The 2 blooms out there now opened 10 days ago and the petals are showing no signs of being ready to drop.

This is truly a wonderful plant.

Wow! What a beauty. I have always been fond of the Kordes roses, but this little princess is something special. She was a band that I ordered from Heirloom and was in perfect condition when she arrived.
She even showed up at my home with a lovely little bud. I have only had this rose for a little over a week and am really impressed. As the new kid on the block, (only 18 inches tall) she has held her head up
and lived through a couple of mid 90s days in Antioch, , , hot and blistery sun. Her bloom is still in perfect shape 7 days later. The color is a beautiful shade of salmon and the petals are as pretty as a picture. The blossom flattens out slightly making her a very unique shape. And her petals are (as my god daughter said) ruffled. She is a little similar in shape to my beautiful camellias. This is a very young plant and I am looking
forward to her maturing. Already she has a lovely fragrance. What else can I say. I AM IMPRESSED!!

Thank you for giving me hope for this rose The plant of 'Savannah' I received from Chamblees has so far showed no interest in growing at all. Meanwhile 'Zaide', from the same order, is growing and blooming. Both are planted near each other, in locations which have 6-8 hrs. of sun daily.

How is your Savannah doing? Mine in the shade are growing in Z8, which was 100 degrees yesterday in mid-September. The ones in the sun have been in the ground for a couple months longer without a bloom so far.

I really think it needs warmth and a long growing season.

It remains a mollycoddled, pampered spoilt baby, about 18" tall, which has not happened to feel up to blooming this year, 1916. In contrast, little "Benny Lopez", also at about 18", has produced three separate and spectacular flushes, despite being overshadowed by that thug, Duchess de Rohan.

Oh no, sorry to hear that! And I thought it was my direct sun that she didn't like. I prefer purple tones but bought Savannah for her reported heat tolerance. My shaded ones are growing but have only had one flower on each bush so far. It was a very bright coral pink, not dusky at all for me. Thanks for your thoughts!

Savannah has now produced one bloom which is distinguished by a nice green vegetative center. I do hope this not going to become a habit.

Hi,

While there is a rose KORumneza this seedling number is in error. Kordes has not released this rose and it has never been offered for sale commercially in the world, so the date of 2002 is incorrect and troubling information. Having this on the internet will cause problems with patent filing in N. America. Where was this information obtained? Can you remove it from the site?

Thanks,

The concern was with the company's ability to patent the rose and legally collect royalties, not with the "public's welfare", Andrea. Patent laws state you have one year from the "public introduction" of a plant to patent it and demand royalties for its production. Public introduction can mean as little as posting a photo of it on line with any information that specifically identifies the plant. Patent Office employees are very well versed in internet searches.

Your site is not working properly. When I enter David Austin in origin or introduction. It comes back
with nothing.

This has been happening lately.....I am going to 'un' join HMF if you don't get your site fixed.
