If anyone knows, please let me know. ‘Bayou’ is the German meaning 'Port', I can understand it. But what language is ‘Bajou’?

Bayou is not German, but a term from Louisiana USA for flat wetlands found there. So it is originally a French word from USA. "Bajou" is incorrect, but used by many nurseries as a spelling variant.

Thank you everyone for your valuable information. It wasn't a writing mistake at the time of registration, it was derived from American-made French. I have learned a lot from your! The original meaning of "Blue Bajou" was not "blue port" but "blue small stream"!

I realize this thread is old, but "Blue Bayou" is also a song, written and first recorded by Roy Orbison, then later by Linda Ronstadt. :-)

There’s no explanation about the unusual color of this (I assume) ‘Silver Moon’ nor a date of posting. Does anyone know anything about it?

maybe just a badly lit photo?

The photograph shown is our hybridised variety 'Silver Dawn', this is not 'Silver Moon".

I remember seeing 'Korovo' being offered for sale at Gretchen Wheen's nursery in Sydney about 20 years ago, so there may still be the odd specimen or two surviving in Sydney. I regret not purchasing it at the time.

It would be great if there are more out there. Clearly this one has been alive for over 80 years, so it must be tough and healthy. The reviews in the references are glowing.

Hopefully the owners from Orange might be able to propagate it from cuttings. If their bush has that provenance of being 'Korovo' and also matches the photos and descriptions etc., I see no reason to doubt it as being 'Korovo'. It would be a good one to spread around again.

She has tried, and failed, to propagate it. I have asked her to reach out for assistance from local rose groups and heritage rose groups

2016. Ramblers And Other Rose Species Hybrids p74. 'Duplex' Syns.: Rosa pomifera Duplex', Rosa villosa 'Duplex', 'Wolley Dod's Rose' .......there may be some repeat blooming, but rarely any hips.......the plant is said to grow to as much as 10 feet (3 meters), but some sources indicate a lesser height.

rarely any hips? unless the plant I was recently looking at was mislabeled, it had dozens of hips.

There are many references and photos to this rose having hips. By placing this reference in Members Comments I was probably hoping to invite comment as to why the author wrote “rarely any hips”.
