There are few roses that I havbe absolutely nothing good to about but this one is the one! I have a soft spot in my heart for grandifloras. And always preferred the Armstrong catalog listings over J&P in the 70's and 80's. So imagine the spring in my step when, around 1980, this one hit the shores via Armstrong. Oh, it was first one the order sheet and got a prime place along a warm wall with southeast exposure here in 6a. What a waste. The plant itself was lovely: pillar tall, gorgeous glossy leaves. But it never bloomed. When it did the blooms were so small and out of proportion with the plant and/or on top of a 7 foot stem and absoluteluy faded. Like a pixilated 3rd rate Peace blossom. The winter of 84-85 when it got down to -20 for a few nights in a row in January this one fell prey and was promptly replaced by yet another bush of my favorite, lol, Cherry Vanilla.........
