Trying to get a photo of this rose but we have had almost a whole month of rain. At least I am able to evaluate the variety in very wet climates. It doesn't ball up like I expected it would. After the bloom has been open it will stop opening and show the usual signs of a bloom stuck in rainy weather - a little brown along the edges and petals stuck together. Probably not a good variety if you get too much rain in your area. The blooms have been about 3" across and nice bright dark red. The form is loose but double with not too much substance to the petal. Really nice fragrance.

The bush is rounded with medium green, semi-glossy foliage. Starting to send up a few taller canes. We'll see if I get any more flushes throughout the year. Still worth the wait.

UPDATE: No rebloom on this one. I did let a few hips go just so I can play around with it to see if it would produce anything worthwhile. Might need to be deadheaded in order to give any rebloom. Also might have to contact nursery to see if they get any rebloom.

I like the shape of the plant but that's about all I can say at this point. This is the second season and I still haven't got a single bud. I have some new growth that looks promising so we'll see. Any one got any suggestion on getting it to bloom?

UPDATE: Well it took 3 years to get this plant established enough to bloom but it finally has. The first year it stayed extremely small and in the second year it sent out several longer canes about 3-4 feet long that made me think I was sent a climber instead. This year, however, the plant has become extremely bushy with nice clean foliage. The spring flush has produced many blooms that are loosely formed in a bright dark red. The blooms are born mostly in cadelabra style clusters which basically gives you short stemmed single flowered blooms. Very charming variety which evidently requires a lot of patience in getting it established. We'll see if it will continue to bloom for me now that it is established.
