New Roses 1923. American Legion (HT) (Towill) F.l. This variety has rather flat globular huds; large, full, cerise red flowers possessed of a fragrant perfume, and lasting well. The foliage is large, glossy, of a reddish green shade, and not subject to mildew. The plant is vigorous in growth and a profuse bloomer. This was originally named ‘American Legion’ in the United States, but the name has been changed to ‘Legion’ in that country on account of the objection of the Association of the same name to the original designation.
