Introduced in United States by Conard-Pyle (Star Roses) in 1959 as 'Royal Velvet'.
Introduced by Unknown (Australia) in 1962 as 'Royal Velvet'.

Class:

Hybrid Tea.

Bloom:

Dark red. Flowers rich, velvety cardinal red. Weak stems. 55 to 65 petals. Average diameter 5". Large, very full (41+ petals) bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.

Habit:

Tall.

Growing:

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default). Can be used for cut flower or garden. Vigorous.
