Introduced in France by Grandes Roseraies du Val de la Loire in 1926 as 'Comtesse de Castilleja'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1928 as 'Comtesse de Castilleja'.

Hybrid Tea, Pernetiana.

Bloom:

Coral to salmon-orange, vermilion veining, ages to coral-pink . Strong fragrance. Semi-double (9-16 petals), borne mostly solitary, cupped bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season. Long, ovoid buds.

Habit:

Short, upright. Glossy, dark green foliage.

USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

Silvia Victoria Rodriguez de Rivas (1909 - March 21, 2001), Comtesse de Castilleja de Guzmán, daughter of Joaquin Rodriguez de Rivas y de la Gándara (b. 1880), 4th Comte de Castilleja de Guzmán, and Ana Rosa Diaz de Erazo y Camano. Castilleja de Guzmàn is a town in the Spanish province of Sevilla. The gardens of the palace of the Count were designed and build by the landscape architect Jean C. N. Forestier (see).
