Frederick MD 7a This is my first year with this rose. I bought it as a band last year. It is still in a pot. I have 2. They both get some dappled shade, but are mainly in full sun. I really like this rose. It is blooming constantly. I have it behind a garden pond and it looks really nice there. The leaves look good. Blackspot pressure is high here and 2 other rosebushes have defoliated already, but Lyda looks good right now and is continuing to grow and put out new blooms. I have not gotten a scent yet.

I don't quite agree with the statement "occasional repeat". My Lyda Rose bushes flower from June to about September. Furthermore, I am in a zone equivalent to USDA 5b and have no problems growing this incredible rose, even during really cold winters. Update the HMF description?

I have a 'Lyda Rose' hedge in front of my house that I keep cut to about 5 feet tall. It is in bloom from spring through summer and its flowers are abundant and nicely fragrant here in my eastern North Carolina garden.
It will get blackspot but grows through it. It is fertile as a seed parent.
