*** Growing near Houston, TX: sub tropical zone 9a. Mild winters, hot, extremely humid summers that last half the year. ***

Purchased from Rose Petals June 2011.

I have had three of the Cochet roses in my garden- Maman, Niles and White, and of the three I wouls say that the blooms of Maman Cochet balls the least. Niles Cochet was the hands down worst as far as balled roses went. There was rarely a spring with open blooms. (Niles Cochet died in the Christmas freeze of 2023.)

August 2013- Dug up and potted for move.
June 2014- Waiting for new garden spot to be ready.
===
2/3/2015- planted in west tea row.
2/6/2016- survived the summer with temps over 100, no rain, and only two instances of supplemental watering. Obviously it didn't bloom during that terror, but there was no dieback, and flowers returned when the rains did.
4/2016- size is 3 x 3

10/2016- Another summer with no rain, and a dry early fall so far. Still doing well.
1/2017- Came through several freezes and even snow without any dieback.
2/28/2017- Just under 3 ft tall, but 6 ft wide. Growth is not dense yet, this lady is just stretching out her arms.
11/28/2018- Maman Cochet is now just under 6 feet tall and 8 feet wide. Still Stretching.

5/2/2021- Survived winter storm Uri but had a lot of die back. Had to prune down to 3 x 3.
12/15/2021- Finally blooming a little for the first time this year.
4/18/2023- Survived another freak winter storm just before last Christmas with 40 mph winds included. My tea row is exposed to the North and William R Smith, next to Maman actually died. Several others in the row were badly damaged and are still trying to recover. Maman Cochet was pruned down to about 4 x 4, maybe a little bit wider. Been blooming a little. I would say she is a little more cold tolerant than some of my other teas.
