Have tried this 2 times, once in the 90's and once again in the early 2000's. Never did either plant ever give me one bloom. But nice and vigorous!

Five years ago I planted this rose and will be removing it as it is a failure. Very vigorous, it throws out massive 3 metre growths each year like a vast and prickly octopus. I tie these down horizontally on wires. If I am lucky I might get five clusters of bloom, there is no repeating despite such a lot of growth. These bunches of flowers are larger than and average bush 'Queen Elizabeth' but it hardly compensates for the great size of the plant. 'Constance Spry' would make a far superior climber.
