After four years of fighting mildew--in dry southern California--- I am ready to shovel prune this giant. Nothing I have tried gets rid of the mildew. It's in full sun, is huge (six feet by six feet) and blooms constantly. Due to the mildew, leaves and blooms are stunted and unattractive. Suggestions please.

Powdery mildew may be exacerbated by dry soil (too far from spray heads, next to tree roots, etc), but I'm not positive on this (sorry). Heavy feeding with nitrogen may also exacerbate mildew, altho I'm not certain. Based on the 2 plants I've seen in southern California, Graham Thomas is moderately/slightly susceptible to mildew.

In my response you would think I'm a lawyer, but it's just hard to pinpoint causes/solutions to PM.

I just renewed my premium membership via PayPal but the webpage thinks I am still a non-premium member. Our paypal account connects to my husband's email account (SoCalHal46@gmail.com) rather than to my account, Oakslesly@gmail.com He was supposed to receive notification at his account regarding the renewal. He has not received anything and it's been about 15 minutes since I renewed. Will you please sort this out asap?
Thank you so much,

Hello~
I love your photos. Thank you for sharing so much. I have a question about Pink Intuition. I am hoping to purchase it from Wisconsin Roses, but I cannot locate any information about its fragrance or how it performs as a cut flower. I also need to find out about disease resistance or problems in my area, Ventura County (Thousand Oaks) in Southern California.
Any information you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,
Lesly Vick

Performs well as a cut flower. Zero fragrance -- it's a florist rose, and they typically are not fragrant. They generally breed florist roses looking for the longevity of the cut flowers. The same qualities that make a rose fragrant, are not good for longevity, typically thinner petals and more oils.

If you bring up the rose you will see a 'Buy From' tab at the upper right of the page.
Hortico is listed as having this rose.

EuroDesert Roses in Morengo Valley, CA has it. Contact owner, Cliff Orent at clliff.eurodesertroses@yahoo.com if you can't find it on his web page. He has a WONDERFUL selection of old world roses brought to California. He has over 5,000 roses at his nursery. I recommend him highly for quality plants and great selection.
