Laguna ® rose photo
Rose photo courtesy of Organic Roses-Honeybee Garden
I have made comments about Laguna before. For me, this exceptionally fragrant rose with glossy very healthy leaves is a once-bloomer. One magnificent spring flush just like Cornelia Musk rose, with awkward sprigs blooming here and there sporadically during the rest of the growing season. This is a climber that grows very fast, vigorously and like all climbers that I've been growing in my Kansas locale, very BS resistant. I also wonder if the thorniness seems to deter JBs. We get plenty of this pest in our locale, but it's a rose that never gets munched on.

The other side wraps around the other wall of the house. 2013 Bloom - Own Root acquired in 2011 Full bush shot. Please note this plant is actually 3'6". It only appears taller because it is elevated almost 3' off the ground in a giant chest level with the raised patio. However, it is indeed a very sprawling wide plant that likes to drape low. Pink in summer, apricot in late fall and cool springs. Very disease resistant in blackspot zone region. This tea very winter hardy for a tea rose (also does way better than all of my HTs and can still maintain green canes) unless an unusually severe winter. Can be up-to-zone 5 for sure with protection.
