Evelyn bloom can get big at 5" across. Behind salmon is Sweet Mademoiselle, beige is Princess Charlene de Monaco. My Evelyn is 12th-year own root from Chamblee's Nursery in Texas, always healthy NO RMV. Scent is sweet peaches and floral (similar to Nahema). I can close my eyes and identify it just by its amazing scent.

Sweet M. is very big as 3rd year own root in the fall at 6 feet by 3 feet wide, in my zone 5a. The small yellow bush in front of the pic. is Moonlight Romantica (slower repeat). Sweet M. is a CONTINOUS BLOOMER but it needs space and high calcium & potassium for its zillion petals.

The Squire bloom has many petals, and can get big at 3.5", but NOT as big as the Dark Lady at 4" across. Blooms last 2 weeks on the bush, and 1 week in the vase. The Squire is heat and drought tolerant. Scent is spicy good with alkaline pH tap water, but gone with acidic rain.

Annie makes good cut blooms, lasting 4 days in the vase. One cluster can perfume the entire room with its wonderful lilac and musk scent. The scent is calming like sniffing lavender essence before bedtime. Annie is my top 10 favorite scents among 150+ fragrant own root roses.

8th-year OWN ROOT The Squire is compact & upright bush. NO weak necks, can take high heat at 100 F and blooms last one week in the vase. Scent is best with alkaline tap water, but gone with acidic rain. Bush size is 1.5' x 1.5' in my zone 5a. Very winter-hardy and drought-tolerant. It requires the least water among my 34 Austin varieties.

OWN-ROOT Annie L. M. survives 3 winters OUTSIDE in my zone 5a. It got eaten down to the crown by rabbits in July, so I put in a pot, and it quickly grow. As 4th-year own root it's small & compact for a pot, only 1' x 1' after winter-killed to less than 3" in May. My winter is harsh at -20 F below zero, but Annie survived outside for 3 winters in my rock-hard clay.

My own-root The Squire can take high heat at 100 F, blooms last 1 week in the vase, and the scent is spicy good at alkaline pH. The Squire is even more compact than the Dark Lady at 1.5' x 1.5 as 8th-year own root. Normal color is much darker red, my pic is lighter red due to liming. The Squire prefers alkaline tap water and booms more than The Dark lady in hot & dry.

Augusta has 10 buds after 4 months purchase as band-size own root from LongAgoRoses. It's a constant bloomer and needs high calcium & potassium for zillion petals. Scent is strong & fruity with notes similar to Munstead Wood.
