Got big (another photo posted here) Got run over by a huge truck. Appeared to be dead. Grew back to this.

Probably getting on for thirty years, now. We gave up on pruning long ago. No -- it doesn;t have to be let to grow like this, and can fit into a garden nicely.
But isn't it nice to know that it CAN do this? Oh, and it lives under a giant tree.
