White, near white or white blend Hybrid Bracteata. Exhibition name: Maria Leonida
Bloom:
White, blush shading. Delicate blush centers. Strong, tea fragrance. Medium, very double bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season.
Habit:
Tall. Height of 5' (150 cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
Notes:
Reportedly raised from open pollinated seed of Thé bengale ordinaire [could this be Hume's Blush Tea-Scented China/Bengale thé] that was planted close to Rosa bracteata and thus not truly a species cross. For different speculations on parentage - see References.
